Board Meeting 2010 - Huge Success

I would like to thank everyone who made it out to this years Toronto Board Meeting for helping to make the weekend a success.  Those who participated are able to share in the memories of past, present and future rides and help carry out the epic legacy it leaves on Toronto's streets.  This years meet fell on the anniversary of the 9/11 World Trade Center tragety as we were joined by 10 New York longboarders from the Bustin Boards Crew who arrived at the BM kick off party on Friday evening at Longboard Living.  The night was nothing short of awesome as Chris Dyer, visionary skateboard artist from Montreal premiered his biography film, Positive Creations and Ilyan from Chocosol set things off with fresh veggie wraps, chocolate and yellow watermelon.  Stoke was in the air by the time Bustin rolled off the MegaBus and into 74 Oxford.  The night continued to elevate as Longboard Living launched a collaborative series of painted Triple 8 Brains Saver Helmets that are now on auction for Kids Help Phone charity.  10 Toronto artists participated in this fund and awareness wearing project through the help of S&J Sales East.

So this is all great, Bustin and Escarpment Surfers in the house, Chris Dyer on the screen, good eats and painted buckets but it didn't take long for everyone to have helmets and gloves on.  We ripped garages all night.

Saturday came in full force as the crew met up again at Longboard Living, the flag was waving and our group of 20+ took it down College to the Yonge Subway en route to the park.  427 riders was the final count (add a few extra that took a wrong turn) and we broke 400 for the first time with another TBM record breaker.  For those of you that experienced TBM for the first time, take it as a lesson in stoke spreading.  Move forward in your life by bringing some of the this day with you.  Start your own longboard group skate with friends or join an already existing ride with complete strangers.  This event started with one man and it was a huge inspiration for Longboard Living.

Matthew McGowan and Cam Brick organized the events to follow TBM, Slide FU, a slide jam at a private road leading to a swage treatment facility called, The Poop Chute.  The prize table was filled up once again by amazing event sponsors, Sayshun, Bombora, Hog Town, Rayne, Loaded, S&J, Longboard Living and more.  The ES were riding hard and the young bucks were having a blast.  Longboard Living Minions were frequenting the podium and cleaned up with prizes!

There are not enough words to capture this past weekends events in one blog post or album of photos.  We want to hear about your board meeting experience and see your photos - so send over content ready to publish to info@longboardliving.com and we will post it in upcoming posts and newsletters.

Spreading the stoke,

Longboard Living
